He felt bad about himself and tried to regain his self- worth by making the decision to move into their new house instead of accepting continued segregation.

Another ethical issue depicted in this film is Justice as Equality or Egalitarianism. Egalitarians hold that there are no relevant differences among people that can justify unequal treatment. Linder was unethical and immoral because he did not treat the Youngers equally. He did not believe they were good enough to move into his neighborhood, therefore he offered to pay them not to move into their new home. This was racist therefore it was unethical and totally against the egalitarian standards. Judging the Youngers by the color of their skin is immoral and wrong! Another ethical principle depicted in this film is reversibility. Linder did not reverse the situation to himself.

He did not consider if he would like to be treated the same way in a similar situation. What if he was moving to an all black neighborhood, would he want to be offered a payment not to move into the neighborhood because of the color of his skin? I think not!
